ABOUT ME

Rie Drolet

Designer | Videographer | Photographer

As a current student in the Interactive Media Design program, I am updating my skills in digital media, including graphic design, videography, and photography. Through the program, I have collaborated in a team to plan and execute multiple media projects from concept to final product, completing user research, mood boards, wireframes, mock-ups and final designs.

My background includes extensive experience developing concept designs, organizing events, exhibitions, and public art displays, and developing advertising campaigns and corporate identities for businesses in various industries, including cosmetics, health and nutrition, patent firms, architecture, television and film, and hospitality and tourism.

When approaching a design project, I meet with my clients and listen actively to understand their unique needs and goals truly. I demonstrate flexibility in presenting multiple ideas to clients, adapting my communication style to ensure their understanding and satisfaction.

In Japan, I have been involved in volunteer work to improve the bicycle environment and to plan and manage city events. By improving the bicycle environment, it becomes easier for pedestrians to walk and easier for bicycles to ride, resulting in fewer accidents and longer stays in town. This is because it creates more communication in the town and city, makes the town safer, and revitalizes the economy.

Although it was a non-profit job, in Japan, I was involved in running a cafe where mentally disabled people are served. They bake bread and drip coffee after receiving orders. Communication with customers and the “thank you” from them increases their motivation to work and makes them more positive.
